Church’s is delighted to announce its first women’s collaboration with designer Kei Ninomiya, who launched the noir kei ninomiya line in 2012 under the Comme des Garçons umbrella led by Rei Kawakubo.
During Paris Fashion Week this past March, the noir kei ninomiya AW20 show opened with a blood-red look complemented with a pair of never before seen Church’s Shannon Derbys in bright red, adorned with metal embellishments.
Ninomiya’s sublime collection featured gold and silver wires, decorative arrangements, and metallic woven check fabric that were threaded, snapped, wound, clipped, tufted and frayed into elegant and inventive garments that reimagine the techniques by which we create clothing. Each breathtaking look was accompanied by a pair of Noir Kei Ninomiya x Church’s Shannon gracing the feet of the models on the runway. The result: Japanese avant-garde meets English heritage and craftsmanship, completing each elevated look.
For the collaboration, Church’s created a unique capsule collection of three exclusive Shannon styles in black and red polished binder leather with ornate metal embellishments and sole ton sur ton. An evolution of English craftsmanship with a visionary and contemporary fashion approach.
