Consumer interest in bathroom wallpaper has surged in 2022, according to new data from Pinterest trends to show where Bathroom Decor Trend direction is heading.
And retro design house 20th Century Cloth is helping homeowners embrace it with its new Bathroom Decor Trend wallpaper collection.
Inspired by the mid-century vibes of the 50s and 60s, 20th Century Cloth’s eight-strong wallpaper collection has subtle nods to decades gone by. But while it might be inspired by the past, its modern manufacturing means it can be used in every room of the home, including the bathroom.
Helen Snell, founder of 20th Century Cloth, said:
“Bathrooms are renowned for being humid, small spaces, which can put some off using wallpapers. However, as long as the room is well ventilated and the wallpaper is applied correctly and sealed with a decorators’ varnish, you can make a real style impact.”
She added:
“More homeowners are getting increasingly ambitious when it comes to packing maximum style points into every room in the home. The bathroom is no exception and we are seeing colour and pattern being embraced here.”
Wallpapers are priced at £144 per roll and are available from 20thcenturycloth.com.
Helen Snell’s fabulous fabric designs have been bought by M&S, River Island, and Debenhams and by iconic US brands Levi’s, Jantzen and Pendleton. Six years ago, frustrated at the lack of options for mid-century textiles, she made the decision to go it alone and create her own 1950s-inspired designs.
Under her 20th Century Cloth brand she has launched a unique range of fabrics, first for fashion and then for furnishings along with matching homeware products, including lampshades, cushions and melamine. Helen uses traditional 1950s techniques – mark making by hand – to create her designs. And all 20th Century Cloth products are manufactured in the UK.
